Established in 2003, the African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS) is a pioneering network of centers of excellence for post-graduate education, research, and public engagement in mathematical sciences. The organization has five centers of excellence that provide Masters in Mathematical Sciences, with three centers offering a work-integrated program that connects students with industry.

Scholarship By Indonesian Government Reguirements

The KNB Indonesia Scholarship is a fully funded program that provide selected applicants with the following benefits during the scholarship period:

  1. Settlement Allowance will be given to new students upon their arrival in Indonesia;
  2. Tuition Fees;
  3. Monthly allowance upon their arrival in Indonesia as long as they are living in Indonesia during their scholarship period;
  4. Research and book allowance per month;
  5. A health insurance;
  6. Funding for Publishing Scientific Article;
  7. A round-trip international airfare (economy class) from the international airport of the student’s home country to Indonesia, including local transport to the host university;

Indonesian Government Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible to apply for this Asia scholarships, applicants must meet following criteria:

  • Age requirements. The maximum age to apply for a:
    • bachelor scholarship program is 21 years old
    • master scholarship program is 35 years old
    • phd scholarship program is 40 years old

Scholarship By Indonesian Government Registration And Mode of Application

  • Degree requirements (please provide the scanned degree certificate and academic transcripts in English). Applicants must hold a :
    • high School degree to apply for a bachelor’s degree. Bachelor’s degree holder is not eligible to apply
    • bachelor’s degree to apply for a Master’s degree. Master’s degree holder is not eligible to apply
    • master degree to apply for a PhD degree. A doctorate degree holder is not eligible to apply.
  • Language requirements (the certificate must be obtained within the last 2 Years)
    • Bachelor’s degree applicants should have a minimum score of: TOEFL ITP of 477, TOEFL IBT of 53, IELTS of 5,5, TOEIC of 510 or equivalent.
    • Master’s degree applicants should have a minimum score of: TOEFL ITP of 500, TOEFL IBT of 61, IELTS of 6,0, TOEIC of 575 or equivalent.
    • PhD applicants should have a minimum score of: TOEFL ITP of 530, TOEFL IBT of 71, IELTS of 6,0, TOEIC of 640 or equivalent.
    • Candidates from English-speaking countries, or participants from university who are enrolled in programs taught in English (stated in participant diploma/transcript), are not required to submit the English Proficiency document, by attaching official proof from their home university.

Furthermore, applicants must be able to provide the following documents

  • recommendation letter * from a potential research supervisor from one of the partner universities (for doctoral applicants only).
  • statement of purpose * that at least states the purpose of their studies, the origin of their interests in studying in Indonesia and pursuing their chosen research topic and their plans for the academic future (dissertation proposal).
  • recommendation letter * to apply for the KNB scholarship from the Indonesian Embassy or the Indonesian Consulate General.
  • letter of recommendation * for the KNB Scholarship application from the employer/direct supervisor.
  • Provide Academic Recommendation Letter * from previous schools.
  • Proof of citizenship : Official Passport that is still valid for at least 2 years.
