Candidates who wish to sit for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) are saddled with the responsibility of having first-hand information about the forthcoming Examination.

Lack of first-hand information for UTME EXAMS has caused many candidates not to have adequate preparation for it.

When will the 2023 Jamb Registration commence?

Answer: The 2023 UTME registration begins Saturday, 14 January 2023, and ends Tuesday, 14th February 2023

Is the Jamb Mock Exam free?

Answer: The jamb mock examination is not free. Unlike previous Mock Exams, jamb has introduced mandatory payment of an N1000 service charge for CBT centers.

The payment will be made at the point of registration to prevent material and human errors.

How much does it cost to take the 2023/2024 JAMB?

Answer: The current price for the purchase of the 2023/2024 JAMB Form is N4,000. It also has an additional charge of N700 for the processing fee.

Candidates are advised to register at Jamb-accredited centers. Registration centers not recognized by JAMB are completely not acceptable.

What is the JAMB Exam Test?

Answer: JAMB exam will test your knowledge of only 4 subjects from the JAMB syllabus.

Where can I buy the JAMB scratch card?

Answer: You can buy the JAMB scratch card at NIPOST, Skye Bank, Zenith Bank, UBA Bank, Union Bank, or First Bank.

 Where will I  take the JAMB Exam?

Answer: Candidates are required to take the JAMB exam only at accredited testing centers.

If I don’t want to take the computer-based test (CBT), can I still take a paper test?

Answer: Jamb has gotten rid of paper tests since 2015, online computer-based tests are available for candidates to take.

What Do I Do First When I Get To My JAMB CBT Exam Centre?

Answer: On arrival at the CBT Test center, the first thing to do is complete your biometric verification. The Biometric verification includes thumb printing and biodata verification exercises.

How Many Times Can I Take the JAMB/UTME Exam?

Answer: There is no limit or time-bound attached to writing Jamb Exams. You can participate in it as many times as provided you are yet to score high or beat your university cut-off mark.

You will stop writing Jamb whenever you score high and subsequently gain University admission.  

How much Time Do I have to Take Jamb Exam?

Answer: Jamb Exam timing is specific and direct. The time will be conspicuously displayed on the computer screen during the examination, you will see it reading.

Can I Apply For JAMB With Awaiting SSCE, NECO, or NABTEB Results?

Answer: Yes, JAMB accepts candidates from SSCE, NECO, or NABTEB awaiting results. By and large, candidates who are opportune to get their results that year are advised to upload and update their Jamb Website address.

How do I know my JAMB Exam Center?

Answer: it’s pretty easy to know your Jamb examination center. Follow the steps shown below and print out your exam slip.


Log into the Jamb Website and navigate to JAMB Exam Date, Venue, and Time Portal Via https://portal.jamb.gov.ng/ExamSliPrinting/PrintExaminationSlip.

Enter your JAMB Registration Number in the Space Provided.

Finally, Click on PRINT EXAMINATION SLIP to know your exam date, time, and center.

How long does it take JAMB to release exam results?

Answer: According to the Jamb Registrar, It will only take 3 days to release the Jamb UTME Exam.

What is the JAMB 2023/24 cut-off mark?

According to Jamb, the cut-off mark required by tertiary institutions varies based on the type of institution. 

Here’s a list of JAMB 2022 cut-off marks according to the various types of higher institutions:

University is between 160 – 180

Polytechnic/ Monotechnic is between 120 – 140

College of Education is between 100 – 120

Cut off mark of 2022/2023 is yet to be released. It will be released soon after the conduct of the exam.

How many subjects are in the JAMB 2023?

Answer: Candidates are to Register a total of Four (4) subjects in Jamb, English language compulsory, and any other 3 subjects related to the course you wish to study.

Candidates that wish to Study Engineering can choose English, Maths, Physics, and any one of social science.

while candidates that are aspiring to study law can choose English, Government, Literature in English, and Christian Religious Knowledge.

Make further inquiries before making a final decision on the subject matter.

 Can I change my school choice after registering?

Answer: Yes, you are at liberty to change your university or course after having taken the Jamb exam. This change can be done once in a lifetime. 

Is UTME 2022 CBT based only?

Answer: Yes, JAMB 2023 will only be computer-based.Concerning innovation, Joint Admission and Matriculation Board have completely got rid of paper-based tests for all candidates.

How many hours does the JAMB exam last?

Jamb Examination only lasts for two (2) 

hours, any additional time concerning this will be seen as cheating. Candidates should strive to work within this timeframe to attempt all questions and answers.

What will Happen If I Fail to Submit My Exam Before The Time Finishes?

If you are unable to submit your answer at the stipulated time, the computer “Auto Submit” system will automatically submit your answers without your consent and log you out. But do not worry about that, the computer will still grade you and publish your test score.

However, to avert such unpleasant occurrences, candidates are advised to quickly attempt all questions within the stipulated time frame.

How do I know how much time I have spent on The Jamb Exam?

Answer: The computer screen usually displays the time you have spent and the time required to attempt all questions.

What if a Candidate does not have experience using Computers ?

Answer:Not to worry, 

JAMB will make available standby staff that will assist any candidate that is not computer literate.

Everything will be set before candidates are allowed to enter the exam hall. candidates are only required to click on the correct answer.
