The Ministry of Education on behalf of the Federal Government in its recent disclosure has once again come out to give its assurance to undergraduates nationwide as regards to its face-off with university-based unions will of which it affirmed resolution is close to taking place before going further to note that academic activities is set to resume in earnest.
The disclosure were made known and information put across by the Minister of Labour and Employment in the person of Chris Ngige, who once again gave his assurance of a resolution being brought in place towards ending the strike today Wednesday being the 22nd day of the month of June in this present year.
The minister furrher went on to debunk various allegations labelled against the ministry by the union as regards to planning different payment structure for all the trade unions in tertiary institutions.
It is worthy to note that the federal government had earlier reached out to all the relevant agencies such as the National Information Development Agency (NITDA) as regards to efforts being put across in resolving the contentious issues that led to the ongoing strike by the four university-based unions.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) which is the governing body of most of the tertiary institution just this past week had disclose their stance hasn’t changed and still remains the same as they express their discomfort over the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS) created.
