Stellenbosch University 2022 Tubingen-South Africa Programme for South African Students
Students from South Africa are invited to participate in the Tübingen – South Africa Program, which is a cultural and linguistic exchange program.
The program’s primary objective is to familiarize South African students with the German culture and language. It also attempts to strengthen relations and increase mutual understanding between the two nations.
Programs in Tübingen are intended to give students with an in-depth understanding of a wide range of disciplines, from language and history to economy and business, in addition to tours to factories and tourist attractions, making for a stimulating month of multi-faceted study.

Students at Stellenbosch University (SU) come from more than 100 nations and represent 29 countries, with 4000 of them coming from outside South Africa.

Aim and Benefits of the Tubingen-South Africa Programme
Students who have shown academic excellence at SU may be eligible for a travel stipend that will pay the cost of their airplane tickets. Then, the programme covers:
• Lodging with a German family (with a light breakfast);
• Lunch and supper in the local student cafeteria (Mensa) throughout the week
• Tübingen and suburbs bus pass for January;
• A notebook, a set of pencils, and so on
• Classes and seminars;
• Travel, admission fees, lunches, and other costs connected with other events and activities;
• Official trips and factory visits;
• Extra-warm winter clothing, if necessary.
You will be responsible for the following things as part of your contribution:
• registration/administration fees
• visa application courier expenses, if necessary
• your travel arrangements to / from closest South African airport;
• meals during the weekend;
• your daily allowance (we advise you to take approximately €350–400 with you).

Qualifications for the Tubingen-South Africa Program
The ideal applicant is someone who is keen to participate in group discussions as well as enthusiastic about participating in group activities. Also, he or she should have the ability to represent South Africa well.
• Students in their second or third year of college
• Must get a cumulative grade of 60% overall.
• Not been out of the country yet
• It is required that you be available to go to Germany during the month of January 2023.
• A South African citizen or a student visa to study in South Africa is required.
