It offers fellowship opportunities to art and architectural scholars or archaeologists from Turkey, Egypt, North Africa, Morocco, Algecira and Morocco.

American Academy in Rome 2022 Getty Global Affiliated Fellows for Art & Architectural Historians In MENA
Getty Global Affiliated Fellowships are available to citizens and residents of Turkey, Egypt and North Africa (Morocco. Algeria. Tunisia. And Libya.) or the Eastern Mediterranean (Syria. Lebanon. and Jordan).
The fellowships will be awarded to archeologists and art historians who are based in these countries.
Projects that can be done in Rome will be preferred or would be able to benefit from the time spent in Rome will be given preference.
This fellowship program aims to attract diverse candidates from areas where archaeology or art history is an emerging discipline.
It also welcomes candidates who are historically underrepresented or marginalized.

Getty Global Affiliated Fellowships: The Goal and Benefits
Getty Global Affiliated Fellows live at the American Academy of Rome. All fellowships include one room, board and a stipend. Two fellowships will each be granted.
Fellows will live and work at Academy from February 2023 to July 2023. If possible, they will be invited back for another six-month stay between February 2024 and July 2024.
Candidates whose work would be benefited by the interaction with a multidisciplinary group are welcome to apply.
Qualifications for Getty Global Affiliated Fellowships
This fellowship is open to mid- and early-career scholars. Predoctoral and postdoctoral scholars can apply.
