The EdTech Evidence for Entrepreneurs courses are targeted for a group of entrepreneurs from Africa who want to improve their educational product usage.

The program is sponsored by the Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation, Jacobs Foundation, and UKAID and offers a variety of educational and training materials for aspiring e-business entrepreneurs.

Applicants may apply through Edtech’s Evidence for Entrepreneur cohorts if the courses meet.

We are currently taking applications to EdTech Evidence for Entrepreneurs. the brand-new online course designed specifically for entrepreneurs and developers of EdTech products that aim to draw on the most reliable evidence available to enhance teaching and learning performance in Africa.

It is a restricted course that is a cohort-based one offered at no cost from EdTech Hub and supported by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Jacobs Foundation, and UKAid.

The goal is to assist entrepreneurs demonstrate the creation of EdTech products through the application of studies on the way students learn, the elements of effective teaching is and how products can be designed with the user in mind.

The course will provide an intensive and practical training using engaging text and video and individualized coaching sessions.

Innovation and entrepreneurs can take advantage of this course to offer their products the best chance to make tangible changes for students as well as teachers and education systems across sub-Saharan Africa.

Entrepreneurs who choose to take part in the course will receive the certificate of appreciation upon the successful conclusion of the course.

They will also be eligible for a cash prize to help with the development of evidence and capacity of your EdTech product.

We are accepting applications for the initial cohort. Classes for this cohort begin on the 26th of September, 2022. The cohort will include participants from East African countries.

The next cohorts will concentrate on different regions in Africa: Western Africa (January-February 2023) and Southern Africa (March-April 2023 ).

EdTech Evidence for Entrepreneurs course Eligibility

You can apply to the EdTech Evidence for Entrepreneurs cohort-based classes in the event that you…

  • You are working on or have created the EdTech solution or product that is targeted at primary-level educators and learners within sub Saharan Africa. You could run your own business or work for an organization in which you lead the creation or development of an EdTech products or services.
  • You’re on East Africa (Cohort 1: September. 22nd, 2022 through Nov. 4 2022), West Africa (Cohort 2 January. 16 to Feb. 24 2023 ) and Southern Africa (Cohort 3: March 20 to April 28 2023 )
  • You’re willing and able to participate fully in the class with your peers and experts for 5-10 hours each week throughout the six-week session in your region.
  • You are proficient of English (both both spoken and written)
  • You must be at minimum 18 years old
