Breaking: JAMB To Screen Thousands of Results

The Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board, (JAMB), stated that the 2022 UTME was conducted for foreign candidates on Saturday, May 28.

The examination body stated that 27105 candidates who took the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination would be further screened.

UTME to screen results

These disclosures can be found in the JAMB Weekly Bulletin, which was published Monday in Abuja by the Office of the Registrar. They are also available on the JAMB website. According to the board, the exercise was successful in five of nine foreign centers.

JAMB stated that the exercise, which was held in five of the board’s nine foreign centres, was a huge success.

The bulletin noted that the centers where the examinations were held included Accra, Ghana, Johannesburg, South Africa, Buea and Cameroun.

The examination body however stated that the 2022 Foreign UTME will be held in the four remaining centres, namely Berlin, Germany, London, UK and Jeddah Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as New York, USA, in due course.

The board explained that this was part of its generosity towards foreign students who expressed interest in attending Nigerian tertiary schools during the academic year.

According to the board, the International Policy on Test Administration was established by the Board in order to attract more foreign applicants to the country’s tertiary institutions. The policy has had positive results.

 

Additional screening of results

Exemplifying on the further screening of exam results, the board based on statistics from the Office of JAMB’s Weekly Bulletin noted 1,761 338 candidates registered for this exercise.

It was also reported that 1, 707 626 candidates took part in the exercise, and 1, 671,203 candidates have been released with their results.

However, it stated that 69 of the results had been withheld, and 27 105 were currently undergoing further screening. Meanwhile, 1,783 candidates who faced biometric challenges were being investigated to determine their claims.

Remember that JAMB announced that the results of the candidates who took the 2022 UTME exam were available for download on Saturday, May 14, 2022.

It stated that the results had not been uploaded to its website for obvious reasons, and advised the procedure for verifying the results.
According to reports, approximately 1.7 million candidates took part in the 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in 755 computer-based centres.
